Rockland - Character Development

"Rockland is the last Rock Warrior, having met his defeat in combat and being lost for centuries. After being discovered and restored by the Flanders family, he would repay this act of kindness to them by acting as their guardian for generations. With the disappearance of her parents, Rockland now looks after Flynn, often beleaguered by her energetic nature, as they go on adventures in a bid to solve the mystery."

Character from my short film 'Flynn and Rockland in Leap of Faith' - Rockland is a character I'd been developing for a long time prior to the creation of the short, and it was nice to bring him to life in a way that I had previously been unable to do. Interesting challenges I faced within the project were finding ways to present his mossy rockface nature. He was a relatively straight-forward build as he is built like Eighties and Nineties action cartoon characters and the action figurine of them.
