CTRLX All Purpose Gel Visual Development

Visual development of sequence from CTRLX project

This sequence was inspired by advertising which portrayed products with near universal and magical qualities, despite looking somewhat untrustworthy. I had also seen a picture of some pancake mix next to some oven cleaner, and was surprised with how similar the bottles were. At the time of development, there had been an increasing frequency of people talking around eating Tide Pods or other detergents on the internet. In the universe of the animation, the rogue AI of CTRLX's advertising division wouldn't be able to differentiate this sort of thing, and so would sell the gel as an all-purpose and edible product, despite the contrary.

I wanted my work in this project to have striking colour palettes, so green was used heavily in this, to suggest both the natural and the unnatural, as well as toxicity.
